Cantucci o cantuccini are a unique Tuscan delicacy. They are a specific type of Tuscan biscuits, a type of hard anise-flavored almond biscuits, originating from the town of Prato and therefore still known as "biscotti di Prato." This amazing Italian product is traditionally served at the end of a meal with a glass of Tuscan dessert wine, Vin Santo. They are famous all over the world but only traditionally produced here. Antonio Mattei is the pastry chef who invented the recipe during the 19th Century. The same exact recipe is still used today and has never been modified.
