I agree that LaMela is the best in Little Italy - truly a treasure - I always bring out of towners there so they can experience something they would never experience in their home towns - fabulous!

I have been going to La Mela for the past 20+ years and have always had an amazing experience. There is something very special about the experience you will have at this Little Italy landmark.

Back in the late 80's walking down Mulberry Street, I was literally pulled into La Mela to have dinner, and the rest was history. You always feel like you are with family eating here, and the food is the best. Over the years I have personally taken dozens of people to La Mela, who are now regulars.

For me the best part of dining here is not having to order. Platter after platter of the most delicious food is brought to the table and large bottles of both red and white wine. The restaurant is totally consistent over the 20 years that I have been eating there. When people visit me from out of towm and want are true New York experience, this is the place.

Do yourself a favor, head over to La Mela; eat, drink, laugh and experience the best NYC has to offer!

When La Mela Ristorante first opened twenty five years ago, its primary focus was to offer high quality affordable Italian cuisine in addition to a unique cultural dining experience. Today, this sentiment still stands. That is why La Mela Ristorante is a well known staple of Mulberry Street in New York’s Little Italy. La Mela has an a la carte menu as well as several options of the family style dining menus that made us famous for delicious and plentiful food. Our complete menu is available every night until 2am, with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays, when it’s available until 3am. La Mela welcomes large party events which can be accommodated in any of our five party rooms. We can accommodate groups of anywhere from 5 to 400 people. At La Mela our customers are family, and that is why we display our family photos on our large plasma TV screens seen throughout the restaurant. Another unique aspect of the dining experience at La Mela is that our walls are papered with photographs of our customers over the years, including celebrities from Bill Murray to Frank Sinatra. Come on down and maybe you will be the next person who gets their photo on our famous walls or on our TV displays!
